Westminster Chamber Orchestra Seeks Community Members

Orchestra is looking for viola and double bass players, as well as other string, wind and brass players

SALT LAKE CITY– The Westminster Chamber Orchestra is looking for community members to join their group. The orchestra is made up of Westminster students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the local community.

The orchestra rehearses Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. in the Rehearsal/Recording Studio in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory. No formal audition is required, but proficiency on an orchestral instrument is a necessity.

Participants may enroll for credit or participate regularly for no credit. Currently, there is a particular need for violas and double basses, but other string, wind, and brass players are equally welcome. The new director, Russell McKinney, is a well-known bass trombonist with the Utah Symphony.
